Designed for people who want to learn the basics of making presentations, this one-day workshop will help instill the confidence needed to present to a group. Participants will gain insight into the principles of adult learning and how those principles apply to presentations. Participants will practice planning and developing presentations, including determining content, organizing material, designing effective openings and closings, and transitioning between topics. The importance of non-verbal communication, voice pitch and tone, and the tools of the trade (handouts, videos, flip charts, overheads, etc.) will be stressed. By practicing during the workshop, participants will identify personal strengths as well as areas in which they might improve their skills. Additionally, participants will develop a presentation skills action plan. Addresses NAWDP CWDP competency: Communication, Management Services Endorsement M7
