The Maryland Institute for Workforce Excellence (The Institute) provides staff development and networking opportunities for professionals from a wide variety of organizations involved in developing the skills of the nation's workforce.
The Institute helps professional staff acquire and develop skills they need to provide exceptional service, guidance, and leadership necessary for effective program operations. Services are provided for organizations located in Maryland, the mid-Atlantic region, and other parts of the country.
The Institute is funded largely through a partnership between the Workforce Investment Network for Maryland (WIN); the Maryland State Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (DLLR); competitive grants, and fee-for-service activities.
Other partner organizations include the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED), the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), the Maryland Governor's Workforce Investment Board (GWIB), the Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA), and the Maryland Department of Human Resources (DHR).
